  • Formally registered as a business entity providing web development services

2006

  • Conceptualizing a payment gateway for Nepal
  • Capitalizing on the penetration and reach of mobile phones and SMS

2007

  • Foray into fintech with the launch of SMS Banking – A service that could be used by customers to avail banking services using SMS syntax codes

2008

  • Developed and launched Internet Banking – our first truly digital banking platform

2009

  • Launched eSewa – South Asia’s first digital wallet and Nepal’s first payment gateway, pioneering digital payments in the region

2012

  • Established eSewa Agent Network – an agent led business model to make our wallet services accessible to every nook and corner of the country
  • Established eSewa as a vertical
  • Received the Red Herring Top 100 Asia Award

2013

  • Received the FNCCI National Service Excellence Award

2014

  • Launched BankSmart – A full-fledged app based mobile banking system that worked with mobile internet and SMS
  • Recognized with the Stevie International Business Award

2016

  • Launched Express Banking – An internet banking suite tailored for corporate and retail banking customers

2017

  • eSewa granted Payment Service Provider (PSP) license from Nepal’s central bank
  • Logica Beans, a new subsidiary formed to provide off-shoring and R&D services
  • Recognized as Nepal’s highest tax payer (IT Sector) by the Government of Nepal

2018

  • Established eXtensoData as a Big Data Analytics and AI services vertical

2019

  • Established eSewa Money Transfer as a digital remittance vertical
  • Established Fonepay Payment Service as a digital payment network

2020

  • 10M+ mobile banking subscribers
  • 3M+ eSewa users
  • 100K+ Fonepay QR Merchants

2022

  • Fonepay granted Payment Service Operator (PSO) license from Nepal’s central bank
  • Established Foneloan as a vertical operating a digital lending platform
  • Established FoneNXT as a vertical providing digital only Banking as a Service (BaaS) platform

2023

  • Fonepay launched UPI Cross Border Payments with India
  • 20M+ mobile banking subscribers
  • Established FonePoints as a vertical operating a digital loyalty management platform
  • Established JumJum as a ride sharing / people mobility vertical

2024

  • 10M+ eSewa downloads
  • FoneNxt launches OrangeNxt – Nepal’s first digital-only banking platform
  • FoneNxt secures a Platinum win at the Infosys Finacle Innovation Awards
  • Fonepay launches Nepal’s first virtual credit card
